Welcome Mr. Coughran's Class.  "Mr. C" is the High School Art instructor at Jay High School in beautiful Northeastern Oklahoma. As a teacher, I believe in providing my students with a comprehensive education that not only focuses on traditional art skills, but also incorporates technology, web design, entrepreneurship, and college preparation. My goal is to help my students become well-rounded, creative individuals who are prepared for the future.

One of the ways I strive to achieve this goal is by encouraging my students to attend college at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado or the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Both schools offer excellent art programs and opportunities for students to explore their creativity. Fort Lewis College, specifically, offers free tuition for Native American students, making it an ideal choice for those who want to pursue higher education in the arts.

Durango and Santa Fe are both unique and inspiring towns that offer a wealth of artistic and cultural experiences. The surrounding natural beauty of Durango and the diverse artistic community in Santa Fe provide students with endless opportunities to grow as artists and individuals.

I hope that you will take the time to explore this website and learn more about my teaching philosophy, the art programs at Jay High School, and the possibilities that Fort Lewis College and IAIA can offer your child.
